  3. My very first memory as a child was going to Don and Becky’s wedding in Ashland. I was not yet 4 years old, but it made a big impression.I think I bought my first new car from Don, a 74 Vega. And then there is the fun time I had welding the broken manure extractor in the barn. Lots of memories of a fellow we could all look up to. May the sweet memories comfort his family.

  9. Please accept our deepest sympathy. All 3 of my adult sons and my husband were clients of Hershey’s Barber Shop for years. They all had their first haircuts there and I saved their first lock of hair from those cuts. Don, Jimmy, and so many others have made it a landmark of Medina. Such a special place, full of good advice, good haircuts, a spinning wheel where a Hershey bar was a coveted prize and most of all, a remembrance of a time gone by, when Life seemed simpler, neighbors were friends, and communities were tight-knit. Thank you, Don, for a life well lived, and for the many memories you gave us all. To enter your Barer Shop was to be among friends. May you rest in peace and your family find comfort in your legacy. The Mahon Family, Kim, Brian, Adam, Paul, and Mitchell.

  12. Hi Hershey Family. I lived in Medina 26 years, and got haircuts there the whole time. Hershey’s provided a perfect Mayberry setting, but with a twist. Don allowed an environment that was second to none….his jokes, his caring knowledge of everyone in town, the ladies chit-chat that made us not only feel at home, but also provided the days chuckles, Jimmy’s delightfully quirky way, and a unique way of learning the daily goings-on. A true gentle-man! Thanks Don!! TLC
