Following a brief period of declining health, Ramona June Davis passed away on July 2, 2022 at the age of 92.   Ramona had lived independently at Danbury Senior Living in Wooster for several years.   She was born on May 8, 1930 to Rhoda Mae (Rojahn) and Harry Cleveland Arnold in rural Stark County, near Brewster, Ohio.   A long-time resident of Apple Creek, Ohio, where she attended high school, as a teenager Ramona worked at the Apple Creek Restaurant, which was then owned by her parents.   As an adult, she worked as a secretary at the Apple Creek State Hospital and later at Waynedale High School.   In retirement, she served her community as secretary for the Apple Creek Cemetery.
Ramona was predeceased by her husband Jack Lee Davis, whom she married on February 5, 1950, sister Wava Dawn Iceman, and half-sister Geraldine Schumacher.
She is survived by son Jack Lee (Sharon Stocker) Davis of Cincinnati, son Theodor Scott (Merilee) Davis of Indianapolis, daughter Jill Ann (Matt) Wickham of Akron, special niece Connie Middaugh of Wooster, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.   Ramona is also survived by her beloved cat companion Buddy, who is now in a loving foster home for which Ramona ™s family is eternally grateful.
Ramona ™s family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Danbury, Crossroads Hospice, and West View Healthy Living for their loving care and support.  Ramona was a member of the Fredericksburg Church of Christ and her family appreciates the outreach and support provided by the congregation.
Memorial donations may be made to the Wayne County Humane Society, 1161 Mechanicsburg Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691.
In accordance with Ramona ™s wishes, there will be no calling hours.   Graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 7 at 1:00 p.m. at Apple Creek Cemetery.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

  2. Very sorry to hear of your loss. Thoughts and prayers are with you Jack, Ted, and Jill. I’ll miss your Mom. I’m pretty sure I may have contributed some of her grey hair when she worked at Waynedale. She was always a good sport about it.

  9. I remember my mom talking about a Ramona when she worked at ACDC … I believe I met her once or twice … So sorry for her family and friend’s loss … She now can chat with my mom Carol Mullens and catch up lol
