William L. Rastetter, 83, of Wooster died on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare.

He was born October 16, 1938 in Wooster to Channing and Iva Mae Finn Rastetter.  On July 11, 1959, he married Nancy A. Latham.  She survives.

William had worked as a roofer for 10 years with City Roofing and Spouting and then went to work for Wooster Products as a saw man and retired from there after 26 years.  He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps.  He was a life member of the Marine Corps League # 569, Am Vets, Eagle Lodge #811 and the Elks Lodge #1346.  He was also a member of Central Christian Church, Marine Corps Association, Moose Lodge #1115, Izzak Walton League, Marine Corps League and was a Charter Member of the 555th Honors Detachment.  William was proud to have transported 3 different mayors for the Memorial Day parades over the years.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his daughters Debra (Jeff) Klein of Park City, UT and Belinda (Lou) Williams of Greenwood, IN; grandchildren Chad Aaron Miller, Rachael Klein Miller and Jordyn Taylor Burlison;  6 great-grandchildren; siblings Ronald Snoddy of CO, Shirley Trent of Mt. Eaton and Harold and Charles Snoddy both of Wooster.

William was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Central Christian Church, 407 N. Market St., Wooster with Rev. Glen Schory officiating.  Entombment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.

Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church on Thursday.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

  6. So sorry for your loss. I knew William from the Wooster Eagles and would speak with him often in the mornings when all the guys got together for coffee years ago. He was a very nice man and I enjoyed the time I spent with him. My thoughts and prayers are with all his family and friends.
