Kristen (Kristie) Elizabeth Yenne, 69, of Wooster, passed away at Brookdale Senior Living after a long journey with Frontotemporal Dementia on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.

Kristie was born to Marjorie and Richard Graff on July 10th, 1953 in Wooster, Ohio.  She was the third of four children; with two older brothers and a younger sister, Paula Enkemann of Wooster.  During her youth she enjoyed tap dancing, swimming, and was a longtime member of Central Christian Church where she was baptized on April 11, 1965.  Kristie was a graduate of the Wooster High School Class of 1971. During this time, she met her soulmate, Rick Yenne; they were married on August 25th, 1973. Kristie and Rick had four beautiful daughters, along with seven beloved grandchildren during their almost 49 years of marriage.

Kristie thoroughly enjoyed her time spent in the sun whether it be by the pool or at the beach with her friends and family. She made sure to always have her nails done, enjoyed shopping with her girlfriends, and was always down for a girls’ trip.  She loved being involved in her children’s lives, such as being a school PTO volunteer and cheering on her girls in all their activities. Kristie was also a member of Junior Service Club and often spent time volunteering within the community. She also worked various jobs throughout her life, including being a car hop, a telephone operator, and a receptionist for Boys’ Village.

Rick and Kristie enjoyed many years of traveling with friends and family, building their family, loving and spoiling their grandchildren, and being members of the Wooster Elks Lodge. During these years Kristie and Rick enjoyed cheering on their favorite sports teams, the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians.

Everyone who knew Kristie, knew she enjoyed living her life to the fullest. Especially on her 60th birthday when she achieved her dream of sky-diving while her family cheered her on.

Surviving is Kristie’s large and loving family, husband Rick A. Yenne of Wooster; daughters, Brandi (Ben) Ballentine of Wooster, Jaymi (Jason) Allen of Raleigh, NC, Lyndi (Kevin) Hart of St. Louis, MO, and Marji Yenne (Cameron Gardner) of Wooster; beloved grandchildren, Olive and Jameson Ballentine, Gentry and Emory Allen, Ainsley, Ellis, and Hayes Hart; and many other cherished relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Richie Graff.

Kristie will be greatly missed by many but is now free of her disease after so many years. Special thanks to her wonderful caretakers, nurses, aides, doctors, and volunteers from Brookdale Senior Living and Hospice LifeCare, and all of her wonderful friends and family.

  12. Rick and Family – My heart is so full of memories and I will cherish them. Kristie was a true friend – we lost touch as she was raising you four beautiful girls but I knew she was in her glory because that was her biggest wish in life – to be a mother. She was so proud of her family. She has touched so many lives- we had so many fun times and she was always there to listen. My sincere sympathy and love to you all. She was a gem.
