Margaret L. Sperr passed away at the age of 93 while visiting a daughter in Wooster and recuperating from a recent stroke.

She was born July 1, 1929 in Wilburton, PA in coal mining country. She grew up the youngest of four Klischer siblings. She married Harold E. Sperr in 1948 and was a devoted wife for nearly 67 years.  They moved frequently, as he was an engineer with GE and US Defense Logistics. Margaret would usually find work at the local newspaper as a type-setter wherever they moved to, including 15 years at the Mansfield News Journal. They lived in PA, NY MA, NH, NJ, MO, OH, MD, then finally retired to Daytona Beach.

Margaret raised 6 children who survive her: Ann Henson of NC, Wesley (Terri) Sperr of MO, Sharon Osborne of Wooster, Marlene (Keith) Glassey of NC, David (Darlene) of SC, and Randy (Neva) Sperr of TX; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She was a committed Christian and sang on live radio on Sunday afternoon broadcasts. Margaret enjoyed playing piano, singing in the church choir, and teaching Sunday School. While she never had formal education past 12th grade, she was a lifetime learner. She was most proud that her employment helped to provide a Christian school education for her children including sending four children through college. In her later years she enjoyed bird watching, word search puzzles, Scrabble, and coloring.

After the passing of her husband in 2014 she lived the remaining eight years in SC. She will be buried at Fort Jackson in Columbia, SC next to her Navy veteran husband.
