Uncle Mike, I will always remember your sweet, hippie spirit. I am thankful for all of the wonderful memories I have with you, my cousins, and the family: walks in the woods, trips to the zoo, sledding, swimming, Kung Fu movies and the pit, screaming along to “Shut Up and Leave Me Alone” on The Buzzard, making Van Halen videos, and most of all Sunday dinners with grandma & grandpa. Thanks for teaching me to question authority. I know you’re back with grandma & grandpa drinking super-sugary coffee, eating pfeffernusse, playing with Bogey, Sledge and all of the dogs & watching over us until we are reunited.

To all his family and friends, I’m so sorry for your loss and praing for your hearts…
I have many fond memories of when we would go to
Visit aunt Marie and uncle Eddie’s, Mike would run around and
Play, he gave me piggy back rides and I would tease him about
His hair… as we got older us cousins lost touch.
But still have great memories
My sincere condolences to the Thomas family.
My memories of Mike go back so far. Our families always shared Thanksgivings together and many picnics in their yard to go swimming. His sister Joan and I would try to get together as often as possible. Mike would either be there trying to annoy us or Joan and I would be trying to annoy Ed and Mike, lots of laughs were the end result. Then as we all became young adults our times together drifted to weddings and funerals. We grow up, get jobs, start families and have less time to see our extended families. Then when our time on earth ends the one one’s left behind wonder where did all the time go. It’s true time seems to go so fast looking at the past where as looking forward seems an eternity. My heart aches that I can’t tell you the last time I saw Mike. As the saying goes no one is promised tomorrow. So my dear cousin until we meet again.
Michael would come back to The Willows to eat breakfast , lunch and dinner. He came to my hall early before breakfast. He loved music. I would turn on music for him before breakfast. He would sit in the tv room till breakfast came. I started talking to Michael. He had a handicap. After awhile we started talking about other things. He got comfortable with me after awhile. Found out he was 3 months older than me. So we had some things in common. But I really enjoyed talking to him. He would smile and say thank you when I would open the door for him. I’m gonna miss him. He was so sweet.
