  1. I grew up with Steve. His family was on my paper route, and although he was two years my senior, he was affable and friendly to me. Pleasant memories. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

  2. Steve (aka “Fetz”) was my second dad growing up with Joshua at St. Mary’s School, Church, and Boy Scouts. So many fond memories with him at Y-Indian Guides or at either of our houses with his family. He was a true close family friend until the end. Anyone who truly knew him will miss him dearly. RIP Fetz.

  3. I met Steve through my family and spent time with him at parties over the years at the Bartoleit’s. He was a man of integrity and although sick for many years, he never felt sorry for himself in my presence. His mind was always working and he had many topics of conversation that created thoughtful and often very lively debates. He always thought of the greater good and had many ideas. He had a great sense of humor. I can imagine he was a good father and an active Grandfather. How sad I am that his grandchildren got so little time with him. We all benefited from his presence and I looked forward to seeing him.
Some people leave a mark on those around him and Steve was one of those and I will miss him. To Anna and her mother, Julie, my heart goes out to you and I know he will never be forgotten.

  5. Steve and his family were the first people we met and got to know after we moved to Wooster and became neighbors on College Avenue. I remember so well his wit and energy as well as his positive outlook on life in general. He made our transition to the area so much easier. We were fortunate to know him and his family. Our condolences to Julie, Anna, and her family

  7. Steve was our neighbor for many, many years. He would stop by on his golf cart and share a glass of wine. We will miss him. He was such a caring, thoughtful man. I saw him a month ago and he stopped to chat. He looked so frail. I asked him if he was alright and as Steve would do, he just said yeah it’s ok, that’s life. I loved to look across the yard and see him sitting in his garage smoking a cigar with a glass of wine or something beside him. Steve was a very soft person that loved to have a great time. We will miss you my friend. RIP

  10. Dear Julie and Anna–
We were sorry to hear that Stephen has passed. We send our warmest wishes for each of you to have a treasure chest of memories of him and his life with you and your family. George was especially fond not only of Steve but also of his parents and Julie. George still talks about his last trip to OH and how great it was to spend time with Ray and Steve. Please know that we are holding you close to our hearts as you face the challenge of filling the hole his ‘big presence’ leaves in your lives. Best wishes, always.
