“Together Again”

Robert Milton Cline, 91, of Wooster went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.

He was born July 15, 1931 in Millersburg to Milton and Helen Lawhead Cline.  On November 24, 1955 he married Norma Marie Ballagh.  She preceded him in death in August of 2022.

Robert served his country in the U.S. Army.  He retired from Columbia Gas Transmission.  Robert was a fun-loving man who was loved by all and he never knew a stranger.  He was always the life of the party and known as the neighborhood father.  Robert was a 20-gallon blood donor.   He enjoyed golf and playing euchre.  Robert loved to attend his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events.  Along with Norma, he enjoyed taking bus trips and had traveled to all 50 states.

He is survived by his children Steve Cline of Akron, Sheryl (Jim) Smith of Wooster, Sid (Cheryl) Cline of Wooster, Stan Cline of Orrville; son-in-law Mark Ellison of Wooster; grandchildren Jason (Megan McCabe) Smith, Carissa (Josh) Timko, Chad (Eloise Quintanilla) Ellison, Morgan (Adam) Stein, Jaime Cline and Janell (Jake) Mottayaw and eleven great-grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Sue Ellison; brothers Herman and Ernie Cline; and sister Trudy Martig.

Private family services will be held.  Interment will be in Prairie Twp. Cemetery in Holmesville.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Ohio’s Hospice LIfeCare, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.

  2. Sending our deepest sympathy to the entire family. We always enjoyed talking to Bob. One Sunday at church, Bob came and sat down be side me.He told me, now don’t tell Tom, but I’m going to give you a kiss, I wasn’t sure if he meant it, Well he opened his hand and gave me a Hershey Kiss. We had a good laugh. He sure was a character.

We remember all the smiles & laughs always at ballgames. How they both enjoyed & filled with pride watching those grandkids!!! Cherish ALL those precious memories.

  14. Sheryl, Jim and all of family……we are so very sorry for the loss of your sweet momma and dad! They were a wonderful couple and a wonderful family. Helen was my SS teacher a million years ago. Lots of family memories. Roger and your momma also talked about dancing together which they did somewhere sometime….Freedland Chalet for one??? The sweetest couple and they will surely be missed. Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. Love you much!
