Jessie Edna Helton, 93, of New Lexington, died on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare.

She was born September 5, 1929 in Middlesboro, KY to Charles and Malunda Turner McMullins.  On October 15, 1948, she married Carlo H. Helton.  He preceded her in death in 2006.

Jessie was a homemaker and member of the Spirit of Truth in Washington Court House and Diamond Hill Cathedral in Mansfield.  She loved sewing, quilting and gardening and was a member of the Weed Away Garden Club.

She is survived by her daughter Carla (Larry) Oxenrider of Wooster; grandchildren Jessica Oxenrider of Wooster and James (Diana) Oxenrider of Strongsville and great grandchildren Kyea , Emily and Robert Oxenrider.

Along with her husband, Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, son Billy Wayne Helton and siblings Ray McMullen, Ofey Wilson, William McMullen, Chester McMullen and Ron McMullins.

Private family services were held with burial in the New Lexington Cemetery.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
