Nancy L. Hartrum, 93, of Wooster passed away Monday, November 28, 2022 at Ohio’s Hospice Lifecare.
She was born November 22, 1929 in Sidney, OH to Harrison and Wilma McCullough Ward. In 1966, she married Newell H. Hartrum. He preceded her in death in 2012.
Nancy worked as a legal secretary for Critchfield, Critchfield and Johnston Law Office and retired in 2002. She enjoyed reading, cross stitching and knitting many baby blankets that were donated to Wooster Community Hospital AUX for sale in the gift shop.
She is survived by her children Timothy Bickel of Sidney, Kerry Hartrum of Shelby, NC, Julie (Larry) Gigax of Wooster and Meg Clark of Towaco, NJ; grandchildren Todd Bickel, Aimee (Tim) Dye, Brett Bickel, Kris (Dani) Hartrum, Dustin Hartrum, Adam Hartrum, Jameson Hartrum, Erin (Andy) Buchholz, Kaitlin (Ben) Turshen, Ryan (Hakime) Eland and Megan Eland; great grandchildren Caroline Bickel, Anne-Marie Bickel, Charlie Bickel, Luke Dye, Taylor Dye, Michael Buchholz, Owen Buchholz, Carter Buchholz, Remy Turshen, Melissa Eland, Ella Eland, Max Hartrum and Woody Hartrum.
Along with her husband, Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, daughters-in-law Judy Bickel and Debbi Hartrum; sisters Mary Watkins, Marjorie Roach, Betty Lee and Helen McFee.
A Service of Remembrance will be held Monday, December 5, 2022 at 10:30 AM at First Presbyterian Church, 621 College Ave., Wooster. Rev. David Rice will be officiating.
Family and Friends will be received 1-hour prior to the service at the church.

We were playmates when the family visited with our Grandmother Sarah Adeline McCullough Layman. She and I reconnected after we both were retired and we talked on the phone several times a year. Volunteered at WCH same time as Nancy did no matter time etc or job she knew all the names volunteers. God please be with her family

I’m so very sorry to hear of Nancy’s passing. She was an amazing lady with a heart of gold.
We volunteered together at the hospital and she could always find something to smile about. What a quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. I will miss her beautiful smile and twinkling eye ( even if they didn’t work too well, but she never complained)
