John Thomas Luke, 78, of Wooster passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Ohio’s Hospice Lifecare.

He was born January 18, 1944 in Akron, OH to John Edward and Ruth Cadmus Luke.  On April 21, 1984, he married Carolyn A. Cleary.  She survives.

John served his country in the United States Army.  He worked as a mechanical designer/drafter. John loved bowling, watching movies especially westerns, enjoyed walking and was an avid sports fan especially baseball.

In addition to his wife, Carolyn he is survived by his sons Sean, Troy and Mark Luke; a brother Jeff Luke and a sister Janice Luke.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at 1:00 PM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with Pastor Daron Butler officiating. Burial will follow at Wooster Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, December 5, 2022 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Contributions may be directed to Ohio’s Lifecare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.

  4. I knew of John at an early age, through Mike McKee. Mike was our neighbor, and John was always at their house. The last time Mike was in Wooster, they came by to visit. I will always remember John as a good, fun person. May your family be blessed with many good memories of him!
