Wanda L. Cosyn, 64, passed away at 1:25 a.m. on December 6, 2022, at her home in Wooster, Ohio.

Wanda was born on February 28, 1958, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Harce Lee, Jr., and Sylvia (Lawson) McDaries.  On October 15, 1978 she married Jerome L. Cosyn who survives in Wooster.

After high school, Wanda attended University of Toledo, and University of Virginia, before marrying. She later attended the Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute, where she earned distinction and several awards for floral design. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, she worked as a floral designer, and also at the offices of the Wayne County Auditor, and at Community Action in Wooster. She was a talented painter, and an excellent cook.

Along with her husband, she is survived by two children: James of Wooster, OH; Erin of Shaker Heights, OH; and two grandchildren: Nathan Hajek and Anastasia Cosyn.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 2:00PM at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., in Wooster, with close family friend Jeffrey Slater officiating.

Friends will be received 1-hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army.

    It was a pleasure to know and care for Wanda. Truly a great woman. A friend sent me this message when I lost my mother, it seems to hold true for Wanda; “We will never be the same as we were before this loss, but are ever so much better for having had something so great to lose.”

  8. Jerry and family, I am shocked and saddened at the loss of Wanda. I know how devoted you both were to your children and family. Cecil and I always enjoyed your company, and have never forgotten the good times we shared. Wanda was a beautiful lady inside and out. I lost my husband, Cecil, a year ago this month.
