Helen Louise Culbertson, 94, of Fairlawn, died on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at The Village of St. Edward at Fairlawn.

She was born February 25, 1928 in Wayne County to Elmer and Alma Lawrence Hoffman.  On September 7, 1945, she married L. John Culbertson, Jr.  He preceded her in death in 2003.

Helen retired in 1995 after 32 years in the Accounting Department at Matco Tools.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Uniontown.  Helen loved dogs and cats, her Cleveland teams and researching family genealogy.

She is survived by her daughters Kate Becket of Orange County, CA, Candace Culbertson of Stow and Jonalyn (Cliff) Hoak of North Canton; grandchildren Heather (David) Iseri, Alex Iseri, Michael (Jen) Iseri and Caitlin (Jason) Markham; great-grandchildren Riley Markham and Mason Markham.

Along with her husband, Helen was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Paul Hoffman, Wayne Hoffman and Ruth Butler.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 12:00 PM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.  Interment will follow in Wooster Cemetery.

Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Contributions may be directed to The Village of St. Edward at Fairlawn Activity Fund, 3125 Smith Rd., Fairlawn, OH 41333.

The family would like to extend a Thank You to the staff of The Village of St. Edward at Fairlawn who took such good care of Helen in these last few years

  2. Helen was a dear next door neighbor, a kind hearted, patient, delightful person. We have missed visiting with her over the backyard fence.

  3. My condolences to Kate, Candace, Jonalyn and their families. I have wonderful memories of Helen with her sister, (grandma) Ruth, and her brother, Paul. She will be missed.
