Barbara “Barb” June Bostancic, 89, of Wooster died at home on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 after a 10 month battle with cancer.

She was born June 26, 1933 in Neffs, OH to James and Dortha Phillips Kurth.

Barb was a graduate of Bellaire High School.  She was a proud retiree from the Wooster Brush Company after 27 years in the Roller Department.  She then went on to work at Farmer Boy as a hostess for 18 years, retiring from there just before she turned 87.

She enjoyed reading fiction, playing the piano, attending College of Wooster Men’s Basketball games, gardening, working in her yard, going out with her friends and traveling the world with her cousin Dick Kurth.  However, spending time with her children was her favorite thing to do.

Barb became involved with Relay for Life from its inception with the Wooster Brush Team.  She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Barb is survived by her children Bill (Andrea) Bostancic, Jr., Roger Bostancic, Susan Cook and Lynne (Mark) Geib all of Wooster; brother Bill (Pat) Kurth of St. Clairsville; many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Ruth Ann Lucas, Eleanor Sramcik and Duane Kurth.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 1:00 PM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.  Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Shreve.

Friends will be received from 11:00 AM until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be sent to Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691 or to the Wayne County Humane Society, 1161 Mechanicsburg Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
