Margaret June Polen, 84, of Wooster died on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at her home.

She was born June 4, 1938 in Franklin Twp, Wayne County to Charles William and Rosabelle Calhoun Lautzenhiser.  In September 1982, she married Robert Polen.  He preceded her in death in 1997.

Margaret had worked for many years as the billing administrator in the Crown Division of the Allen Group.  She was a member of Moreland United Methodist Church and was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing cards and working crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her brother James (Marla) Lautzenhiser of Wooster; brother-in-law Kenneth Brown of Wooster; sisters-in-law Vivian (Clyde) Potts and Norma Jean Yost both of Wooster and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband, Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Mary Brown, Barbara McIntyre and Linda Sipes; brother-in-law Harold Polen and her canine companion Peaches.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 16, 2023 at 1:30 PM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.  Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.

Friends will be received on Sunday from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.

  2. Some sad news Thursday morning. Margaret and I were neighbors for over 30 years. I really enjoyed talking too her. She was not afraid to voice her own opinion and that’s what I liked about her. She was also very kind and generous. She will truly be missed.
