Jesse D. Lasswell, 91, of Wooster passed away Monday, January 16, 2023 at Ohio’s Hospice Lifecare.

He was born on January 6, 1931 to Pete W. and Ruth O. Turnage Lasswell.  In 1954 he married Helen Jane Pappas.  She preceded him in death in 2016.

Jesse served his country in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marines.  He had worked as a store and territorial manager for Sears store for 45 years and had also sold Real Estate.  Jesse taught small business administration at Victor Valley Community College.  He loved fishing, hunting and camping, and was a collector of antique clocks.

Jesse is survived by his daughter Lori Schrader of Wooster; step son Peter Nastos of California; grandchildren Jessica (David) Fuqua of Wooster, Alexandra Stabile of California; John Schrader of Wooster, Christian and Rachel Nastos both of California; great grandchildren Gia Schrader of Wooster and Ireland Fuqua of Wooster.

In addition to his wife, Helen he is preceded in death by a sister Betty Davis; a brother Joe Lasswell and son in law Philip Schrader.

A private family service will be held at a later date in California.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

  2. God bless my wonderful friend Jesse and give him the peace and love he so deserves. A friend for 50 plus years and someone I could always count on to be there with knowledge and encouragement. God only gives us a few chances at true friendship and I’m thankful he sent me Jesse. My blessings to his family and many friends. Love and miss you Jesse ❤️

  3. Jesse was a great neighbor! We didn’t get many chances to visit but a hello a couple days a week worked for us! I will miss you!!!
