Marc Banones, 61, of Wooster, died peacefully at Life Care Hospice on January 26, 2023 after months of declining health.
He was born on February 5, 1961 to Lois and Algerd Banones. He was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy at age nine and this affected him throughout his life. Marc graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Kent State University in 1989. While at Kent, he met Kathy Fox and they married on May 18, 1991. They shared over thirty years of joys and sorrows together.
Marc was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. His knowledge of music was astounding. Some of his favorite musicians included John Coltrane, The Who, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Debbie Davies, and Patty Larkin. Marc was a lifelong Cleveland sports fan. He enjoyed “Bob” shows, SpongeBob, Bob Newhart, and Bob’s Burgers. He revered nature and especially loved cats. His personal hero was Jimmy Carter.
Marc was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Kathy, his sister, Ellen, his mother-in-law, Therese, and many nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters-in law. Though his family is heart-broken, we are comforted by the knowledge that he is with God and no longer suffering.
The Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Stephen Moran on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, 527 Beall Ave., Wooster. Private interment will be in All Saints Cemetery in Northfield.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St. Wooster.
