Esther L. Brenneman, 83, of Millersburg passed away Monday, March 20, 2023 at Ohio’s Hospice Lifecare.

She was born on February 15, 1940 the daughter of Henry and Clara Burkhart Shaw.  On May 24, 1958 she married Robert W. Brenneman, Sr. he preceded her in death in 1990.

Esther had worked and retired from Wooster High School as a custodian after 22 years of service.  She loved to crochet, playing solitaire on her tablet, dirt track racing, watching her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren bowl and watching her two great granddaughters play softball.

She is survived by her children LaDona (Ted) Jones, Linda (Billy) Smith, Robert (Tamara Cavendish) Brenneman, Henry Brenneman all of Wooster, Jerry (Joyce Wheatley) Brenneman of Cleveland and Kenneth (Crystle McCullough) Brenneman of Wooster; brother Larry (Kay) Shaw of Rittman; sisters- in- law Ella Mae Shaw of Orrville and Shirley Shaw of Barnesville; 20 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces, nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a great grandson Rocky Matz; brothers Roy Shaw, Dallas Shaw, Herman Shaw and Henry Shaw; sisters Mary White and Doris Tressel.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster. Burial will be in Wooster Cemetery.

Friends will be received Friday, March 24, 2023 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice Lifecare, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.

  5. I do not ever remember a time I had a conversation or spent anytime with her that she did not have a smile on her face. She was truly a blessing to everyone she met. I’m glad I had the chance to have met her and have her as part of the family for the short amount of years I got. Many prayers to the entire family as they have lost such a huge part of their family loosing her. May you rest easy now Grandma, for you have made it home!!

  11. Mom ,how do we go with out you or dad know knowing after dad you was everyone back bone of keeping us strong. Billy said, he sure will miss picking on you and your lemon pies ,no one could make like you .
