Louise Holt, 98, of Smithville passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at the Wayne County Care Center.

She was born on November 12, 1924 in Upshur County West Virginia, the daughter of David and Rebecca Ann Cutright Morrison and was the youngest of 14 children.   On Oct. 14, 1945 she married Charles A. Holt Sr. and they raised their family on Five Points Rd. in Smithville.  He preceded her in death on May 9, 2010.

Louise was a homemaker and had worked part time for Freedlanders, and for Goodyear during WWII.  She was a very active member of the Smithville United Methodist Church and the Wayne County Care Center Auxiliary throughout her life.

Surviving are her children: Rebecca Louise Holt, of Orrville, and Karen Lynn (Tim Alexander) Holt, of Wooster. Grandchildren: Andrea (Todd) Gerber, Ammey (Rod) Frank, Melissa (Adam) Ihle and Keith (Natasha) Holt. Great Grandchildren: Jackson, Owen, Tyler, Katie, Easton, Charleigh, Jacob, and Savena.

Along with her husband, parents and 13 siblings Louise was preceded in death by her son and daughter in law  Charles A. Jr. and Nancy Holt.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home 216 E. Larwill St. Wooster, Ohio 44691.  Burial will follow in Smithville Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Wayne County Care Center 876 S. Geyers Chapel Rd. Wooster, Ohio 44691 or to Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare 1900 Akron Rd. Wooster, Ohio 44691.
