Sally Mae Gilyard Earley, 83, of Wooster went to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, June 23, 2023 at the Avenue of Wooster.
She was born November 23, 1939 in Camden, SC to R.C Hall and Eliza Gilyard. Later in her life, she met and married the man who changed her life, Robert E. Earley. He preceded her in death in 2010.
Sally was a graduate of Wooster High School class of 1958 and was a member of both Second Baptist Church in Wooster and First Baptist Church in Wadsworth. She worked for several businesses in the Wooster area. However, her most cherished job was making a home for her four children. Sally enjoyed doing puzzles, listening to music, traveling, crosswords, playing cards, dancing, watching movies and game shows.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Paulette Perkins of Akron, Lindsay (Patricia Rashid) Florence of Mayfield Village and Gail Florence of Cleveland; grandchildren Tiera Gennis, Jessica Perkins, Candice Perkins, Gavin Florence, Alex (Madelynne) Evans, Ra’Desha Stoudmire, Natasha Florence, Ra’Tawan Stoudmire, Alexis Florence and Jordyn Florence; great grandchildren Chloe Perkins-Davis, Kyrie Evans and Poppy Evans along with the Gilyard, Thompson, and Cantey families.
Along with her husband, Sally was met in Heaven by her parents, son Korey Florence and grandson Kelvin Perkins-Davis.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 9:30 AM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Wadsworth.
Friends will be received on Friday from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.

I was so sorry to hear about your Mom’s passing. I don’t know if you remember me , your 3rd grade teacher at Walnut St. but I sure remember you. Your Mom was always so sweet and kind to me and such a loving mom. I am sorry not to be in Wooster for her funeral but my heart will be with you.

Our beloved cousin Sallie Mae is now resting in the arms of our Lord! She was more like a big sister to us! Loved dearly by her children, Paulette, Lindsay and Gail and all who knew her. She will be missed, but never forgotten. Love. Beyond. Forever.
