Sharon D. Luke, 76, of Wooster passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at OhioHealth’s Kobacker House in Columbus.

She was born March 20, 1947, in Wooster the daughter of Don and Rhea Eberhart Kauffman. On October 19, 1968, she married Herman “Herm” Luke, Jr. He preceded her in death in 2002.

Sharon worked at Buehler’s Milltown and then at the Wooster Brush Company where she retired after 25 years. She loved to bake, was an avid shopper, and will be remembered for her beautiful handwriting. Sharon was a member of the Wooster United Methodist Church. She was a big fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Sharon enjoyed spending time with her special “High School Reunion Girls”; Judy, Amanda, Karen, Sandy, and Pam. Sharon will be greatly missed by her family, of which she always claimed as her greatest blessing in life.

Surviving are her children Tiffany (Corey) Geog of Upper Arlington and Bret (Charissa) Luke of Powell; grandchildren Luke and Cate Geog; her brother Lou (Linda) Kauffman; sisters-in-law Karen (John) Malbin, Linda Luke, and Janice (Steve) Geisler; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Herm, and her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her sister Vickie (Tom) Gajewski; and her father and mother-in-law Herman, Sr. and Dorothy Luke.

A private family graveside service will be held at St. Mary Cemetery, in Wooster, with Pastor Ben Meyer officiating.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made “In memory of Sharon Luke” to OhioHealth Kobacker House, c/o OhioHealth Foundation, 3430 OhioHealth Parkway, Columbus, OH 43202.

  11. I’ve fond memories of Sharon as her sister, Vickie and I were high school friends. I spent plenty of time in the Kauffman home. She was a sweet, pretty lady . Sending you all my deepest sympathies. She and Vickie are reunited again.
