David Benjamin Studer, Sr., 85, of Wooster died on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare.

He was born October 30, 1937 in Wooster to Harvey F. and Zulma M. Minouflet Studer.  On January 24, 1959, he married Patricia Strine.  She preceded him in death.

David had been a logger in California, owned Studer’s in Lattasburg and Studer’s Farm Drainage and Excavating in OK and ministered to prisoners in OK.  He retired at the age of 79.  He found joy in ministering to prisons, going out to eat with Patricia, riding three wheelers and dune buggies, fishing and having fun with his family.  David liked to talk to and help people and loved going to the Studer family reunions.  Most of all he loved God and Jesus, reading and studying his bible and being with his family.  He was a member of the Church of God.

He is survived by his daughter Rebecca (Bryan) Evans; son David Studer, Jr.; grandchildren Sandra (Chris) Jones, Jessica (Derek) Scachetti, Angela (Tyler) Hanson, Dutch Studer, Shannon Gallagher and Wesley (Lacey) Nelson; many great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; son-in-law James Gallagher and siblings Joe (Wanda) Suder, Samuel (Marge) Studer and Marie Craft.

Along with his wife, David was preceded in death by his parents; children Duane “Ed” Studer and Rita L. Gallagher; siblings Helen, Martin, Frank, Harvey, John, Paul and Daniel Studer.

Memorial services will be held at a later date in Oklahoma.
