Celia Faye Orr, 68, of Apple Creek passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield, Indiana.

She was born August 8, 1955, the daughter of Carlos and Frankie Dobbins Hinton. On April 14, 1984, she married Dale Orr. He survives.

Celia was a cook at the Apple Creek Restaurant. Prior to that she had worked for Belden Wire. She had also worked in housekeeping at the Apple Creek Developmental Center and West View Healthy Living, and also babysat for friends and family. Celia had also been a Girl Scout troop leader. She will also be remembered for being a stay-at-home wife and mother whose favorite thing in life was being a Grandma.

Surviving in addition to her husband are her children Carrie (Matt) Reed, Christopher Orr, and Cory (Karin Peay) Orr – all of Apple Creek; grandchildren Owen Gish and Kole Gish; her sisters Carla (David) Hershberger and Cheryl Britton, both of Apple Creek; and her fur-baby “Winston.”

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at 11:00AM at the St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, 68 W. Main St., Apple Creek, OH 44606, with Pastor Dale Smith officiating.

Friends will be received 1-hour prior to the service.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, is assisting the family.
