William C. Koontz, 69, of Wooster died on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at his home.

He was born August 10, 1954 in Springfield, IL to Kenneth P. and Audra Moore Koontz.

William had worked at Rexroth for over 30 years as a machinist.  He was a member of Canaan Center Church of God.  William enjoyed working on and fixing things, motorcycling, attending garage sales and especially attending his grandchildren and great grandchildren’s events.

He Is survived by his daughters Sonya (Daniel) Patterson of Warren and Audra (Doug) Wirt of Mt. Gilead; grandchildren Alexis (Joseph) Baker of Wooster, Allie (Nate) Powell of Lancaster, Kaitlin Kopczinsky and Travis Kopczinsky both of Warren and Samantha (Blake) Boss of Wooster; great grandchildren Adelyn Boss, Emmett Bess, Tayden Boss, Zyana Powell and Zander Powell; sister Sheila (James) Kelly of New Richmond; nephews James “Rambo” Kelly, Ronald Kelly and Steven Kelly.

William was preceded in death by his parents and grandchildren Larissa and Cody Kopczinsky.

A Service of Remembrance will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 7:00PM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with Pastor Dan Wingate officiating.

Friends will be received from 5:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.

  2. So sorry for your loss. Bill was such a nice guy. We knew him from the campground. Always eager to help anyone and so friendly with everyone. He will be missed.

Sorry for your loss we got to know him when we were camping he was a very good gentleman and a very good friend he’d do anything and help somebody I know him very well he asked me last year if he I knew of someone that would clean a camper and I cleaned his camper my granddaughter too it was fun.

  6. Thoughts and prayers goes to Bill’s family. I worked with Bill his entire time at Rexroth. He could always find something to laugh at no matter how bad the situation was.
