It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jeanette Nguyen Vu, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Jeanette peacefully departed this life due to complications related to her heart, leaving behind a legacy of love, generosity, and wisdom.

Born in Vietnam, Jeanette emigrated to the United States in 1975 with her devoted husband, Larry, and their three children, David, Jenette “Thu”, and Steve. She faced the challenges of starting anew in a foreign land with remarkable strength and resilience, always prioritizing her family’s well-being and success.

Jeanette’s life was defined by her immense love for her family. She was a pillar of strength and a source of endless support and guidance. Her wisdom was a beacon for her children, whom she continuously advised and encouraged, helping them achieve their goals and aspirations.

Known for her unparalleled generosity, Jeanette had a heart that knew no bounds. She touched the lives of many with her kindness and willingness to help others. Her spirit of giving and caring nature left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Jeanette’s legacy will live on through her devoted husband of 59 years, Larry, and her three children, David, Jenette “Thu”, and Steve, and the countless lives she influenced. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love and gratitude.

A private service will be held on July 5 to honor Jeanette’s life and her profound impact on her family and friends. Flowers may be sent to 4660 Deer Creek Drive, Wooster, Ohio.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

  9. Dear Larry and family,
You are all in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Jeanette was such a wonderful lady – full of love, compassion, and care for her family and others she came in contact with. My mother, Sara (“Sally”) Pais, always thought so much of both of you and considered you dear friends. May God give you peace and comfort during this time of loss.

  13. Mrs. Vu always made me feel like a member of the family, and I think of her like a second mother. She always wanted to know how I was doing and where my future might take me! Some of my best memories growing up were being in the Vu house and sharing meals at the table. Her Vietnamese cooking was amazing, and I have never tasted anything like what she served me! She was also known for her enormous portions. I would always get filled up with the first course, and then she would bring me another just to be sure I would not go hungry! Mrs Vu, thanks for making me feel welcome in your home, and thanks for the decades of support as I grew up and became a parent myself. I miss you already! Love always, Steve Miller

  14. Jeanette and I became close friends when I served as her Home Health Assistant. We discovered that we were the same age and shared many memories with each other, happy and sad. She was one of the kindest, loving and entertaining people I have ever known. I would love it, if one her children or grandchildren would write her life story. She had many amazing experiences.
My condolences to all of you. She loved each one of you with all of her heart. My prayers are with you. Barbara Koehler

  18. I am so sorry for the loss of such a great woman and my heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to your whole family. Mrs. Vu was a tremendous force in my childhood, treating me like one of her sons and always sitting me down for something to eat. Mounds of spaghetti and her amazing Vietnamese egg rolls are some of the memories I cherish because they were always prepared with care and love, smiles and abundance. I spent so much time in the Vu home when I was a kid and those are moments I’ll never forget. She lived an amazing life and brought light to everyone she was around. You all have my love and deepest sympathies. Ted
