Obituary for Suzanne Mary White (nee Theisen) 

Suzanne (Sue) Mary White, 89, of Wooster, Ohio, passed away at Lifecare Hospice in Wooster on Thursday, July 11, 2024, after a brief illness.

She was born April 24, in Detroit, Michigan to Frederick Joseph and Grace Ann Theisen. She lived and grew up in Port Huron, Michigan, and earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Mercy College, Detroit. Her dedication to nursing was evident from the start of her career in 1958 at Detroit Infant and Babies Hospital.   She married Paul Edwin (Ted) White on July 7, 1962, moved to Cleveland Ohio, and enjoyed 34 years together raising their five children.  After nearly 40 years specializing in neonatal and pediatric nursing, she retired from Metro Health Medical Center as a shift administrator. She moved to Wooster, Ohio, where she enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and planning family trips to Europe and Hawaii.

Survivors include her five children, Matthew (Liz) White of Wilmington, North Carolina; Cynthia (Lee) White of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; Richard (Carol) White of Vermillion, Ohio; Paul (Jane Anne) White of Wooster, Ohio; and Julia (Dennis) Sparks of Silver Spring, Maryland; and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Suzanne was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Taylor, and a brother, Gerald (Jerry) Theisen.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations in Sue’s name to the Make a Wish Foundation 2545 Farmers Drive, Suite 300, Columbus, Ohio 43235.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by McIntire, Bradham and Sleek Funeral Home 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.

A private interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Southfield, Michigan.
