Jerry Clay Jones, 77 of Wooster passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare of Wooster.

He was born on March 8, 1947 in Davenport, Iowa to Thomas Henry and Lois Vivian Pryor Jones.

Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Navy.  He worked for AT & T and US West/Quest for 37 years.  Jerry loved building his airplane, working on engines, his 1984 Chevy truck.  He built a computer and built the family’s first color tv from a kit.  He enjoyed camping and fishing with Jim.  He was very religious and studied his bible.

He is survived by a son Jim (Michelle) Jones of Apple Creek; grandchildren Katherine Jones and Kara Jones; two brothers Donovan Jones of Stuart, Iowa, Michael (Barbara) Jones of Des Moines, Iowa; sister-in-law Mary Jones of Des Moines, Iowa.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sandra Kay Mangus; an infant son Jerry Clay Jones Jr.; siblings Thomas A. Jones and Susie Lorimor; sister-in-law Maggie Jones.

Funeral Service to held at a later date in Des Moines, Iowa.
