Cheryl A. Leach, 78, of Wooster passed away Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Akron General Hospital.

She was born on January 24, 1946, in Wadsworth to Edward and Katherine Ashbrook Amweg. On October 7, 1978, she married Willis Leach.  He survives.

Cheryl was an administrative secretary at the OARDC for over 30 years.  She had volunteered with the Boys & Girls Club in Wooster, and the gift shop at Wooster Community Hospital.  She enjoyed knitting, reading, spending time with her family and loved her dogs Chewie & Elly.

In addition to her husband Willis, she is survived by a daughter Sandy (Dean) Houdesheldt of Colorado; grandchild Lucas Houdesheldt; siblings Brenda Berenyi of Montana, Shelley Riley of Akron, and Olin Amweg of Rittman and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson Logan Houdesheldt.

A service will be held at later date.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

  5. Willis ,I’m so sorry to hear of Cheryl’s passing . I always enjoyed her beautiful smile and sweet talks at her visits ,even though we all know the dental office wasn’t her favorite place to be . She will be deeply missed . My Sympathy to you and the family.
