Carol Elaine Denning – Wooster, 91 passed away Saturday, August 3 at Wooster Community Hospital with her family by her side.
She was born August 7, 1932 in Wooster to parents Glenn and Miriam Runkle Snoddy. She married Robert (Bob) Denning on October 30, 1982, he survives.
Carol was owner, operator of Barbie’s Bridal in Wooster and eventually purchased a building in Orrville and moved the business. She had many successful years and weddings, attributed to her dedication to her brides and their special day.
Upon she and Bob’s retirement they spent 29 wonderful years wintering in Englewood, Fl. All of their children and grandchildren have such fond memories of the spring break trips to see them and those will be cherished forever.
Carol was a member of the Church of the Cross United Methodist in Wooster. She loved her many years in the choir and her church family. They will never be forgotten for their friendships and helping hands over the years.
She was a wonderful cook and flower gardener. She was still helping make her famous family cutout Christmas cookies with her granddaughter and great granddaughter to pass on to the next generation.
Carol was also quite a competitor and loved cheering on her children and grandchildren in their sports and even liked beating them now and then in a game of cards. In the later years her competitive passion was turned toward rooting for the Cleveland Cavaliers. She never missed a game on TV and what a thrill this last year was when the season was extended into the playoffs. We will always hear her cheering them on or yelling at the outcome!
In addition to her husband Bob, she is survived by children, Darrell Phillips, Dana L. (Ginna) Phillips, Darrick (Linda) Phillips, and stepchildren Jeff (Jackie) Denning, Christine Haynes and son in law Dana Keplar. Grandchildren, Robin Phillips, David (Jess) Phillips, Dana (Kira) Phillips, Kyle (Tom) Schaffer, Natalie (Mike) Skelly, Rocky (Darby) Capenter, Richelle Carpenter, C.J. (Ryan) Waitkunas, Bobby Denning, Bryan (Lauren) Haynes, Stephanie Haynes, Michael Haynes, Andrew (Brittany) Keplar, Ryan (Allie) Keplar, Justin (Brittany) Keplar, Nicholas Keplar, 25 cherished great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren on the way. Also surviving siblings, Gary (Paula) Snoddy, Portland, OR Larry (Shirley) Snoddy, and Bonnie Miller, and sister-in-law Janet Snoddy and many special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, husbands Dana E. Phillips, Richard Galehouse, brother Charles Snoddy, daughter Michelle Keplar, son in law Timothy Haynes and granddaughters, Sara Haynes and Abbey Elaine Phillips.
