Sandra J. Butler, 84, of Wooster passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Wooster Community Hospital after a brief illness.

Sandra was born July 1, 1940 to Ralph and Hazel Sidle Weaver.

Sandra graduated from Northwestern High School in 1958.

Sandra worked as a case worker for the Wayne County Jobs and Family Services for 27 years.  She was a member of Wooster Elks Lodge and president of Wooster Emblem Club.  She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and bowling for the women’s league at Wayne Lanes.  She loved trips to the beach with her family and gardening at home.

Surviving are her children Bradley Butler and Cheryl (James) Kelbly grandsons Ian (Amy) Kelbly and Ryan Kelbly; great grandchildren Gunner Kelbly and Kennedy Jones.; brother David (Phyllis) Weaver; sister Carol (Charles) Reynolds; four nieces and nephews and five great nieces and nephews.

There will be no services or calling hours.  Just remember her in your thoughts, prayers and memories that are close to your heart.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

  2. My deepest sympathy to Sandra’s family. So sorry to hear of her sudden passing.
    I met her many years ago when I was Cheryl’s preschool teacher. She always had a smile and story to share about her family.
    Good memories of her as a young mom, also caring for others needs in Wayne Co. ..and the many parades she handed out flags 💕

  4. This one breaks my heart, I just found the notice on her passing. I loved being around Sandy. She always had a smile and found humor in each situation. She was a great friend and I will miss her!! My condolences to her family and friends.
