Oren A. Sanderson, 84, of Wooster passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at his home.

He was born on March 27, 1940, in Wooster to Oren M. and Ida May Stauffer Sanderson.  On February 6, 1988, he married Dianne M. Smith Sanderson.  She survives.

Oren was a farmer for over 50 years, a member of Wayne County Farm Bureau, and a former member of Apple Creek Fire and Rescue.   He enjoyed camping with his travel trailer and was a member of Good Sams and Coast to Coast camping groups.  He was also, a member of Ebenezer Lodge #33 F. & A.M. for over 50 years, St. Peter’s United Church of Christ where he was part of support group for Hope Homes and volunteered for American Red Cross and was also very active member of Trinity United Church of Christ.

Along with his wife he is survived by many friends and relatives.

Oren is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ 68 W. Main St., Apple Creek, Ohio 44606 with Pastor Dale Smith officiating.  With burial to follow at Apple Creek Cemetery.

Friends will be received one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster will be assisting the family.

  1. Dianne & family.I was so sorry to read of Oren’s passing. I always enjoyed seeing & talking to Oren. We graduated & went to catechism at Trinity & joined the church at the same time. May you have peace knowing he is at peace in the arms of our Lord.

  3. Dear Dianne … So sorry to hear this, so sorry for your loss of Oren!!! May all the great memories you have bring you peace and comfort! We enjoyed our many chats at the Good Sam rallies. We will miss seeing you Monday at the service as we will be glamping near Erie PA.

    Sorry to hear about Oren. I’ll always remember the hospitality you two provided at the reunions. The kids have fond memories of the model rocket launch he set up.
