Gary H. Miller, Sr., 87, of Wooster, died on Friday August 16, 2024 at West View Healthy Living.

Gary was born to Vernon and Mary Hardin Miller in Millersburg on April 25, 1937.  He married Dorothy “Dottie” Spitler on April 23, 1960.  She survives.

Also surviving are two children Cindy Miller and Gary (Heather) Miller, Jr.; grandchildren Maxton (Katie) Miller and Alexia (Mark) Wengerd; sisters Sandy Musselman and Cheri Marcon.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Charles “Doc” Miller and Gregory Miller.

Gary served his country in the National Guard and joined the U.S. Army for two years, then reenlisted for two more years in Germany.  He loved his family, especially his wife of 64 years, Dottie; his children and grandchildren.  He enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sporting events.  Gary had a strong work ethic, which he passed along to his children.  He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren grow and succeed in life.

He took meticulous care of his lawn and loved his neighbors.  His greatest enjoyment was helping Gary Jr. at Radical Design.  His interest was restoring classic car, watching the Cleveland Indians, country music and crossword puzzles.

Throughout his recent years of his declining health issues, he lived with a grateful and uncomplaining attitude.
