Fred A. Miller, 74, of Smithville passed away Monday, August 19, 2024 at Rose Lane Nursing Home of Massillon.
He was born on February 6, 1950, in Canton, Ohio to Melvin and Mildred Schrock Miller. On December 23, 1972 he married Karen S. Wrather. She survives.
Fred proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a machinist for Bauer Ladder and retired after 31 years. Fred was a member of the American Legion Post 68. He enjoyed fishing, watching sports especially football, and loved his children and grandchildren and attending their activities.
In addition to his wife Karen, he is survived by his children Stacie (Chad) Keets of Wooster, and Justin (Kendal) Miller of Orrville; grandchildren Bryant Dillon, Gavin Dillon, Grace Keets, Justin Keets, Karson Miller, Keagan Miller and Kynlee Miller; siblings Harold Miller, Kenny Miller, and Ruth Shepherd; several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.

So sad that Fred has passed away. He was a year ahead of me at Smithville but I played football and baseball with him. After high school I would see him at the Village market drinking coffee. We always enjoyed each other company. He’ ll
