“Together Again”
Ira (Mac) Massey, 96, of Wooster passed away August 21, 2024 at Wayne County Care Center, where he had been a resident since March 2022.
Ira was born in West Virginia to Wade and Laucie (Kincaid) Massey on January 29, 1928. He honorably served his country in the US Army and fought in the Korean War.
He married Frances Badger on February 1, 1969, and became a stepdad to her children. Frances passed away April 2, 2004.
Ira worked many years for Wooster Construction and 17 years as a truck driver for Wooster Disposal.
He is survived by his step sons Rick (Roberta) Burr of Wooster, Fred (Melissa) Badger of Oviedo, Florida, step daughter Nancy Raper of Wooster, sister Clara Jean Busler of Talbott, Tennessee; step grandchildren Heather Raper, Jessica Raper-Cochran, Megan (Scott) Frazier, Kristen Raper, Keith Badger Jr. and Joey Badger, 12 step great grandchildren and one step great great grandson, numerous nieces and nephews, and a special niece Charolette Taylor, who would make the two hour drive several times a month just to visit with her Uncle Ira.
In addition to his wife and parents, Ira was preceded in death by his siblings, William Robert Massey, Lewis Massey, Harvey Massey, Carlos Massey, Reba Edwards, Margaret Reynolds, stepsons, Keith Badger, Robert (Bobby) Badger, and the second love of his life, his Yorkie fur-baby Mackie.
Family and friends will be received from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on August 27, 2024 at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster. With funeral services immediately following at 1:00 PM.
The family would like to thank Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare and the amazing staff at the Wayne County Care Center for the phenomenal care of Ira.

What can be said about Mac…A Lot! He was funny, ornery and flirt! Whenever I’d ask him how he was he’d say, “Mean as ever” and give you that rotten grin. I loved him dearly, much like he was my own Grandpa. He will be missed dearly, by many I’m sure.

Mac was one of a kind I never will forget how he loved my Lucy I have a pic of him holding her. He was a big tough guy with a big heart, this facility will never be the same with out him.
