Nickola “Nicki” G. Campbell went home to be with the Lord on September 3, 2024 at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare of Wooster.

She was born on March 17, 1948, in Massillon to James L. and Vivian Singer Sheller.  On August 24, 1968, she married Dwight Campbell.  He survives.

Nicki had managed, owned and worked in many beauty shops for over 50 years before retiring in 2013.  She was a member of Westhill Baptist Church where she was a greeter, sang in the choir, did the ladies retreat, the banquet committee for many years, and had been a girl scout leader.  Nicki loved crafting, baking, cooking, sewing, fishing, water sports, line dancing, bicycling and spending time with the family at the cottage at Middle Bass Island.  She was always smiling & enjoyed life to the fullest.

In addition to her husband Dwight, she is survived by her daughters Jennifer (Allen) Goodwin of Ashland and Stephanie Reed of Wooster; grandchildren Tawni ( Quennell Owens Sr.) Summers, Tori Campbell, Morgan (Christian) Ryan, and Noah Reed; great grandchildren Quennell Owens, Zariya Owens, Remi Ryan, Alexa Goodwin, and Channing Goodwin.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family wants to thank everyone for being a blessing to her and her loved ones through these challenging times including family, friends, doctors, nurses and aides.

A private family service is to be held.

Friends will be received on Friday, September 6, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.

  5. My heart goes out to you, Dwight and family! Nicki has moved on to Heaven, where she is probably already cooking for a crowd–maybe even helping to plan for the great Wedding Feast of the Lamb! Nicki is that rare blend of brave/gutsy/spunky and kind/helpful/generous. Hundreds of people have been touched by her skills and service. Besides her valuable friendship, I am most thankful for the Sunday School class that she and Cartha taught–it wasn’t just babysitting; they fostered a love for God’s Holy Word in those little kids! It might have seemed like a thankless task at the time, but I will be eternally grateful–my son Nickolas was her student, and she helped prepare him to meet Jesus at age 13. I am so glad she invested in his soul! We will be praying for you all in the coming days, weeks, months, and years ahead.

  6. To the Campbell family my heart goes out to you in the passing of your wonderful wife and mom! So many cherished memories for sure! Nicki was such a vibrant person with personality galore! Her smile, laugh and fun nature would light up a room. You could always count on Nicki for any help needed at West Hill Baptist Church. From Ladies Morning Out and even exercise classes many years ago to being an integral part the Ladies Retreats and every meal served at West Hill for many years. She certainly was a blessing! I know the last several years have been hard and even though the loss is hard to bear I know you have to be rejoicing that she is whole again with her Lord and Savior! Love, hugs and prayers being sent your way. ❤🙏
