WOOSTER -JANE LLOYD CRAIG our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother
passed peacefully at Akron Summa palliative care and went home to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, September 14th, 2024.
She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on January 22, 1934 to the late Virginia McPherson and Wilfred Lloyd.
Jane is preceded in death by her husband Jack of 67 years, and her late sister Anne Novak (Richard deceased) She is survived by her loving brother
and sister In laws, Robert Craig (Diane) and Cynthia Hossfeld (Merle deceased)

Mom was the heart of our home and family. She followed the heart of God and the tender ministry of the Holy Spirit – helping, caring, comforting, and coming alongside her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with endless expressions of kindness, generosity, compassion and love.  Mom and Dad raised 4 children, and are survived by John Gath Jr., J. David, Mary-Elizabeth Carlson and Laura Jane.
Jane is also survived by her son-in-law Don Carlson, whom she loved dearly and considered him “one of her own”.

Jane was a stay-at-home Mom, often volunteering her time, supporting her children’s activities and being an active member of her church. She loved English gardening, decorating, daffodils, strawberries, Christmas, dark chocolate, shortbread cookies, tea and Welsh ponies! She was always trying
new things and her personality was one of strength, curiosity, Intelligence and spunk. Mom and Dad knew they were abundantly blessed. And, they felt committed to make a difference in helping transform lives sponsoring children through Outbound ministries and Catholic charities.

Jane was a voracious reader and lifelong learner. She valued the gift of education. She entered college after her children were raised, obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Geography and Master’s degree in Physical Geography from the University of Akron. She loved to travel and learn about different
areas and people. Her recent trip (June 2024) to Aix en Provence, France and up the Rhône River with her daughter Mary was educational and especially memorable.

Mom was affectionately called “Grandma Dolly”. She is survived by grandchildren: Katherine Jane Williston (Brandon Shanks), Andrew John Williston (Andrea), Elizabeth Ruth Williston (Logan Cobb), Emily Anne Williston LaCour (Darren) Christopher King, Elizabeth King (Keenan Young); great-grandchildren: Juliette Marie LaCour, Josephine Therese LaCour, Lilith Jane Shanks, Thomas Russel Williston, Penelope Marie Williston and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jane was a devoted and faithful member of St Mary of the Immaculate Conception Parish. There will be a funeral mass said on Friday, November 29, 2024 at 11:00 am. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery following the service.

  1. Our sincere condolences to your whole family! Jane was such a dear friend, support and mentor. She and I would often go to Mass together followed by brunch where we’d talk for hours at times, exchanging caregiver struggles or stories about your family. She loved you all so much! We’ve known Jane for years. She watched our kids grow up and always had kind and encouraging words
for us. She will be greatly missed. ❤️ Please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Blessings of love and peace to you all!
