William B. McKinstry, 87, Shreve

 

Shreve-William B. McKinstry Jr. 87, of Shreve, passed away at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare of Wooster, on September 24, 2024.

He was born in Canton, Ohio on December 1, 1936, to William and Naomi McKinstry, and was a graduate of Northwestern High School in 1954.  On September 5, 1959, he married Roberta Wright.

He retired from Rubbermaid, and spent most of his life in Wayne County, except for the 10 years he spent living in Greenville, Texas while starting up the Texas division of Rubbermaid. They returned to Shreve in 1990.  They enjoyed spending the winter months in Largo, Florida as Snowbirds in their 5th wheel RV.

After graduation, Bill was a proud Army Veteran serving as an MP.  He took great pride working for Rubbermaid for 40 years as a Plastic injection molding specialist. He enjoyed camping with his family and friends at Seneca Lake.  His favorite hobby was mowing his yard.

Surviving children:  Nicki (Jeff) Drown, and Michael (Marsha) Kendall, both of Wooster, Richard (Gina) Kendall of Marshallville, Bryan (Kim) McKinstry of Campbell Texas, and Steven (Michelle) McKinstry of Monroe Michigan; 17 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Roberta; and a grandson, Michael Kendall Carr.

A private family service was held.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home 216 E. Larwill St. Wooster is assisting the family.

  3. Greg and I send sincere condolences and prayers to all of Bill’s family. We have such fond memories of spending time in both Ohio and Texas with Bill, Bert, and the kids and grandkids. He was an amazing father, step-brother to us, and friend to so many. May God comfort you all.

    So sorry to c him go we still communicated via email
    Anytime we someone wearing shorts and boots we call them Mr bill
    So sad for y’all’s loss but glad I knew him as long as I did

  6. Bill was a great neighber for 30 years, we always stopped to talk while we were mowing, always enjoyed having good talks with him. We enjoyed being neighbers for a long cherished time. Rest in peace Bill
