Jeryl “Jerry” E. Kamp, 74, of Wooster passed away Friday, October 11, 2024, at his residence.

He was born on October 27, 1949, in Ashland Ohio to Norman Edward and Arlene Rastetter Kamp.  On October 11, 1969, he married Darlene Rogers. She survives.

Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.  He worked as a lineman supervisor for Holmes Wayne Electric CO-OP.  He was a volunteer for the New Pittsburg Fire Department, was a member of the New Pittsburg Sportsmen’s Club, and a life member of the NRA. Jerry enjoyed hunting, reading westerns, was an avid collector, and enjoyed leather and saddle crafting.

He is survived by a son Brandon Kamp of North Carolina and a daughter Julie Guidetti of Wooster; grandchildren Dominic Guidetti, Gino Guidetti, and Carmen Guidetti; siblings Ronald (Lora) Kamp of Daniel, Wyoming, Rita (David) Tegtmeier of West Salem, Roger (Lisa) Kamp of Wooster; several nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; and a son in law Andrew Guidetti.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be directed to New Pittsburg Fire & Rescue, 3311 N. Elyria Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

  15. My sympathy to Jerry’s family in their loss. I have memories of fun times when we were kids. My mom and dad and I
    would come to visit from Canada. They were good times with the whole family. It’s interesting how connections and feelings
    over the years do not diminish. You are still my family and I am saddened by Jerry’s passing
