Lidiette Hackett, 62, of Wooster, OH passed away from cancer on October 25, 2024, surrounded by her family. Her health rapidly declined, and her family is profoundly saddened by this sudden loss.

Lidiette was born on January 16, 1962 to Guido Zamora and Daisy Perez in the city of Tilaran, Costa Rica and grew up with her family in view of the active volcano Arenal. She was one of 6 children: Carlos (Margot), Yolanda (Jesús), late Virginia, Elizabeth (Alberto) and Guido (Yohanna).

She immigrated to the United States in the 1980s landing in Miami to pursue the American Dream. Shortly thereafter, she made her way to Los Angeles, California and there she met Drew at work. Lidiette married Drew Hackett on February 14, 1992 – with a truly sweet Valentine’s Day wedding. It was here, in an unfamiliar place in an unfamiliar country, that she began to build a life and family, together with her husband and two children Melissa & Zachary Hackett.

Lidiette was a strong mother and human being. Determined to provide for her husband & family, she took on a wide variety of jobs and even pursued a degree from the University of Akron – earning a bachelor’s degree for Emergency Management. It was at the Post Office, though, where she found stability and worked for years until her passing.

She had a profound wanderlust and wanted to travel the world when she could. Having travelled to Mexico, the Galapagos Islands and even to Peru last year! With her two children, they all climbed up to Machu Picchu together to see the sun rise over the ancient ruins. In her free time, she also greatly enjoyed gardening with her husband and caring for the 7 acres of land at home – feeding the birds and watching the deer and turkeys passing through the yard.

A Service of Remembrance will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 5:00 PM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with Pastor Daron Butler officiating.

Friends will be received from 4:00 PM until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Her departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound, and it is gravely felt by her entire family and others who loved her deeply. The family deeply appreciates your support during this difficult time and asks that you donate to the Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691 in lieu of flowers. The family greatly appreciates the LifeCare hospice and all of their staff who have helped us through this difficult time.

  13. Dear Drew, Melissa, Zachary, and the Zamora Family,

We are deeply saddened by the passing of my beloved aunt Lidiette. Above all her achievements, her most remarkable legacy was her unwavering love and dedication to her family. Her strength and compassion shone brightly through her commitment to each of you, her greatest joy and life’s purpose.

Though her departure leaves a profound void, we find comfort in knowing that her journey continues in God’s embrace, where a perfect life awaits her. May His eternal love bring her peace, and may we hold on to the hope of reuniting with her in Heaven, where there is no more pain, only joy.

From our family to yours, Lara, Victoria, Diego, and I stand beside you in this sorrow, cherishing her memory and the love she shared so freely.

With all our love and condolences,
