Doyle Morris Obituary
Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Doyle Dean Morris died peacefully at home in Fredericksburg on December 4, 2024, his loving wife and devoted family by his side after several months of declining health.
Born on April 20, 1948, in Wooster, Ohio to William and Ethel Imhoff Morris, Doyle was raised on the family dairy farm in Shreve, Ohio where he learned the value of hard work. As a youth, he was an active member of Future Farmers of America and served as the president of the local chapter.
Doyle graduated from Triway High School in 1966 and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Ashland University in 1976.
Employed by the United States Customs Service for 30 years, Doyle retired in 2007. His work as a Customs Inspector and Program Manager took him to Plentywood, Montana, Houston and El Paso, Texas. He cared about his employees and was well respected by everyone.
A voracious reader and history buff, Doyle had many interests and hobbies and dabbled in woodworking, making duck decoys. He loved trains, cars, photography, and working outdoors designing and landscaping his property.
Doyle had a sharp memory that filled his head with trivia he had read over a lifetime. He was also an enthusiastic conversationalist who liked to relate all the interesting facts and stories he had read.
Devoted husband and family man, Doyle will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him. His quick dry wit and a ready smile will be sorely missed.
Doyle is survived by his wife of 36 years, Victoria Guevara Morris, sister Gail Amstutz (Gary), sons Robert Morris (Christy), Patrick Morris (Joanna), grandchildren Brandon, Ian (Mary Hurt), Amber, Laurenna and great-grandchildren Isabella and Heath Morris. He is also survived by nieces and nephews from the Morris and Guevara families.
