Everett “Rod” Charles Hayes, 85, of Wooster passed away Thursday January 16, 2025 at Brookdale of Wooster.

He was born on September 18, 1939, in Willard, Ohio to Earl Vincent and Marjorie Frost Hayes.  On December 17, 1961 he married Beverly Barr.  She preceded him in death.

Rod proudly served his country in the United States Army from February 1962 to February 1965.  He had a career in Silicon Valley, where he was in computer management of marketing & sales.    He enjoyed computer programming and in his youth cars and drag racing.

He is survived by his son Bryan Hayes; grandchildren Madeleine and Carson; sister Gladys.

In addition to his wife Beverly, he was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Earl, Grace, David, Walter, Paul and Thelma.

There will be no services.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster assisted the family.

  1. Rod was a great friend. My wife and I enjoyed spending much time with the Hayes. Trips to the Bahamas and Lake Tahoe were most memorable. Rod and Bev were always fun people willing to go dancing,play cards,host super bowls or just hang out.

    I have fond memories of your parents as their family physician. Your father was an intelligent, interesting man who asked good health questions to satisfy his deep curiosity. I wish you peace with your memories of him.
