Allan K. Rodd, 92, of Wooster, died on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Danbury of Wooster.

He was born May 25, 1932 in Dover to Gertrude Griffith Rodd.  On June 29, 1952, he married Charlotte M. Evans.  She preceded him in death.

Allan graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1950 and from Baldwin Wallace in 1954.  He began working for The Wooster Brush in 1967 as an Assistant Treasurer and in 1985 became the Treasurer and in 1996 becoming Vice President, eventually becoming President and Treasurer in 1998 -2010, when he retired, he became the chairman of the board at Wooster Brush.

He was very active in his community as a member of Rotary and on the Board of Directors for both Wooster Community Hospital and Goodwill Industries.  He enjoyed golfing, watching sports, reading, walking, stamp collecting, playing number games and traveling with his wife.  He attended Northview Alliance Church.

Allan is survived by his children Allan Kenneth (Rebecca) Rodd of Clinton, TN and Pamela Ann (Ron) Sprowls of Dover; grandchildren Jesse Rodd, Tiffany Collins, Chris Sprowls, Josh Baker, Michael Harris and Mason Harris and ten great-grandchildren.

Along with his wife Allan was preceded in death by his mother; daughter Teresa Yvonne Harris in 2018 and brothers Max Rodd and Bill Rodd and a sister Jean Bigler.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025 at 1:00 PM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with Pastor Matt Walker officiating.  Interment will follow in Wooster Cemetery.

Friends will be received on Monday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Northview Alliance Church, 3464 Burbank Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691 or Goodwill of Wooster 1034 Nold Ave., Wooster, Ohio 44691.

  2. Sending our heart felt sympathy to the Rodd family. We have good memories of being neighbors on Sunrise View Dr.. The mail man had a hard time delivering mail to the Rodd’s or the Rudd’s. Sending prayers of comfort and grace.

  5. I have fond memories of your father as his family physician. He was an intelligent, affable gentleman who lived his faith with service to his community. He touched the lives of many. I am grateful to have known him and saddened by his passing. I wish the family peace with your memories of him.

  9. I had the pleasure of working with Al at Wooster Brush for many years. He was a people person, and always made you feel like he cared about you and any issues that happened. He had a great sense of humor, quick smile, and vast intelligence-those virtues contributed to Al being the best leader the Company ever had. My sympathy to his family and hopes that their memories of him help them through their sadness.
