Constance “Connie” M. Gaiser 74, of Wooster died on Thursday February 13, 2025, at The Avenue of Wooster after a 1 year and 9-month fight with Pancreatic cancer.

She was born May 16, 1950, in Ravenna to John and Pauline Grabowski Bernadine.  On April 26, 1969, she married Jack “Greg” Gaiser.  He preceded her in death in 2023.  “Connie and Greg shared a deep and genuine love, and after a year and a half apart, their beautiful journey together continues”.

Connie was a 1968 graduate of Kent Roosevelt High School.  She had worked for United Telephone Company for 13 years then at Underwood Lincoln Mercury and Wooster Chrysler Jeep.  Connie loved working her flower beds, garden, mow and be in the sunshine.  She also enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting and working crossword puzzles.  She liked watching the Cleveland Cavs, Browns and Guardians as well as the Ohio State Buckeyes.  She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandkids.  Connie was a hardworking, dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her children Christine Varner of Wooster, Julie (Shannon) Kidd of Creston, and Stephanie (Nick) Maxwell of Wooster; grandchildren Jarrett Varner, Jaden Varner, Kaitlyn Kidd, Kaden Kidd, Zoey Maxwell, and Chaz Maxwell; brothers John “(Gloria) Bernadine of Wooster and Richard Bernadine of Kent; sisters Cecelia (Tim) Stover and Annette Hersman both of Kent along with many nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband, Greg, Connie was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Paticia Haas, Ronald Bernadine and an infant sister.

We would like to thank the staff and nurses at the Wooster cancer center, the Avenue of Wooster, and Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare of Wooster.  Also, thanks to family and friends that came to care for mom and those that called to check on her through her journey with cancer has been greatly appreciated.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 12:00 PM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.  Interment will follow in Wooster Cemetery.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.

  1. I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. She fought a long hard battle with cancer. May you find peace in the times of sorrow with all your cherished memories of her , as those are “yours” forever.

  7. To the family, I had the privilege working with your mom when we worked at Underwood Lincoln Mercury and Dodge. Many years ago. She was the nicest person. Greg as well worked in the service department. May they both rest in peace. I’m sorry for your loss.

  9. Sorry for your loss. I babysat for you girls while living in the Gashe Street apartments behind Wooster Hospital. You guys were about 5,4,3 I think because my twins were around one. you all were great girls. Billie Hamlin

  10. We are so sorry for the loss of Connie. Bill and I were lucky to have lived by Greg and Connie for so many years. Lots of fond memories!! Connie and Greg raised three beautiful daughters who will miss you both fiercely but know that you are both together again!! Thinking of you all!
