Craig N. Flener, 70, of Wooster passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025, at Hospice House of Hampton Roads in Virginia Beach, VA.

He was born in Wooster on October 23, 1954, to Noble and Opal Flener.

Craig worked as a mechanic for many years and had a passion for cars.  He was a 1973 graduate of Waynedale High School/The Wayne County Schools Career Center.  He enjoyed attending events at the Wayne County Speedway and other dirt track races.  Even after moving to Virginia, he found ways to watch the races on his iPad.  He loved spending time in his garage and welcoming friends and neighbors who stopped by to say hello.  Always willing to lend a hand, he helped many get their vehicles back on the road.  Saturday morning breakfast with his friends was particularly special to him.

He is survived by his daughter Christy of Virginia Beach, VA.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sharon.

Services will be held at a later date.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

  15. Your grandma and your dad were our neighbors. My brother Rex and I grew up on Kountz Dr. Your dad always made sure his mom Opal was taken care of. I cut your grandma and your dad’s hair before Opal died and Craig moved to Va. Your dad was a very nice person. You have our condolences.
