Theola “Dolly” James Mann, 96, of Wooster passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at her home.
She was born August 21, 1928, in Wooster to Virgil and Jesse Shelly James. On August 2, 1947, she married Harold Mann. He preceded her in death on July 7, 2013.
Dolly was a homemaker, and a 1946 graduate of Wooster High School. She was a 4-H member/advisor for 40 years, member of the Moreland Garden Club, charter member of the Moreland Community Historical Society, lifetime member of Moreland United Methodist Church where she served on the funeral meal committee for 29 years. She was a member of the group that started the Honor Banquet and served on that committee for many years. Dolly enjoyed gardening, quilting, baking, cake decorating and playing euchre.
She is survived by her children Virgil (Linda) Mann of Lima, David (Karen) Mann of Shreve, Ilene (David) Starr of Wooster, Peggy Mann of Wooster; honorary daughter Karen Clark of Wooster; grandchildren Scott, Megan, David, Shane, Lance and Jason Mann, Katrina Yoder, Heather (Dan) Sparr, Elizabeth Terwilliger and Karen (Luke) Parthemore; sixteen great grandchildren; seventeen great great grandchildren; siblings Evelyn Musselman of Apple Creek and Robert (Jean) James of Fredericksburg.
In addition to her husband Harold, Dolly was preceded in death by one great grandchild; siblings Virginia McKarrick, Francis James, William Forrest James and Richard James; honorary daughter Patricia Roberts.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 14, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Moreland United Methodist Church 138 Moreland Rd., Wooster with Rev. Jennifer Darling-Mellott officiating. Interment to follow at Moreland Cemetery.
Friends will be received on Monday from 10:00 to 12:00 at the church.

I will always remember Dolly as such a positive person . Her involvement in 4-H made it a fun experience. I used to run into her at the library and chat.

Parties in your barn, 4 H, and countless other memories flood my mind. My thoughts and prayers will be with you during the following weeks, months and years, as you adjust to her loss.

Dolly was such an important part of the Moreland community. She was at the forefront in volunteering her time and energy, serving tirelessly in the church, 4-H, school, and all of the many other committees and organizations with which she was involved. Dolly will be missed. Condolences to all of the family.
