It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mitchell Gillman, 58, on April 9, 2025.  A loving husband, father, and grandfather. Leaving behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and laughter.

Mitch was born in 1966 in Cincinnati, Ohio.  He married the love of his life, Kim (nee Gamertsfelder) in 1989.

Mitch was known for his strong convictions, quick wit, and generous heart.  He had a talent for landscaping, woodworking and could fix anything with ingenuity, and worked hard at everything he did.  He proudly served as a Cub Master for his son’s Club Scout troop, organizing many memorable campouts. He proudly served his country with the United States Army, serving with unit Big Red 1.

He cherished time with his only grandchild Addilyn, in-laws, extended family, his loyal dog Macy and his best friend of 30 years, Walt Porter.  Mitch came alive at Holden Beach, where he enjoyed fishing, digging for mussels, eating oysters, and grilling.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and his beloved in-laws Larry and Vera Gamertsfelder and grandmother Rebbecca Behymer.

He is survived by his loving wife Kim and children Jessica and Brandon and Granddaughter Addilyn, Mother Debbie Vance, Brother Arnold (Angie) Gillman, Sister-in-law Kelli (Dave) Schaffran, his loyal dog Macy, and numerous Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Mitch loved deeply and lived fully.  His spirit, humor, and devotion to family and friends will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Services will be held Monday, April 14, 2025, at 11:00 AM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, with Pastor Kirk Fairhurst officiating. Family to greet friends and family after the service.   A private family burial will be held.
