Paul E. “Junie” Lyons, 85 of Wooster died on Friday, April 25, 2025 at Divine at Honeytown.

He was born May 26, 1939 in Zanesville to Paul and Vioma Fox Lyons.  On October 27, 1967, he married Cassandra “Sandi” Treece.  She preceded him in death.

Paul was a retired long distance truck driver who did not know a stranger.  Being a social butterfly, he and Sandi enjoyed travelling in their RV during his retirement.  Paul was a long-time member of the Masonic Lodge.  He enjoyed fishing, cooking, baking, collecting coins, playing bingo and going out to eat.  During the early 60’s, Paul served in the National Guard.

He is survived by his children Brett (Kandy) Ungerer of Wooster Barb (Alonzo) Lowery of Mt. Vernon, Mike (Ann) Lyons of Orrville and Sue Airwyke of Akron; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; siblings Karen Lake, Marilyn Fletcher, Larry Lyons, Darlene Leber, Christina Hunt; brother-in-law Terry Strouse along with many nieces and nephews.

Along with his wife, Paul was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Janet (Darrell) Baney, Donna Thompson, James Lyons, Leona (Robert) Erow and Laura Strouse.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 1, 2025 at 3:00 PM at McIntire Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.  Interment will follow in Wooster Cemetery.

Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

  1. Our sympathy for the loss of Paul. We had not known him long, but enjoyed him as a neighbor.
