Dear Dave & Paula,
Bob & I were so very sorry to hear of the passing of your father Dave. We find our comfort in knowing he is with the Lord and he is no suffering. Keeping you and your family in our prayers
I don’t believe there are enough beautiful words to be said about this beautiful man and his family. My husband and I always thought that if we could have just had a father like Mr. Hawk, our lives would have been so much more enriched as children. One of the kindest, most humble men we EVER met and surely one of the most wonderful!! I know God said many times over the years, looking down at him, “Well done, My son!! Well done!!” I am so grateful we were blessed to know him and his beautiful family! May God give you all blessed strength and peace that passes all understanding as we await that incredible day when we see our loved ones again, face to face!
So sorry for your loss. I enjoyed , working with Walter on the bookmobile. RIP.
Prayers up for the family. He was the embodiment of a good man. Always patient, kind, and funny. He was a hard worker and looooved his family. I learned a lot from and admired him. His Christian values showed through at all times. Looking forward to see you on the other side. See ya soon, Mr. Hawk.
I met Walter when delivering packages to Dunlap Hospital and then later delivering to the Wayne County Library. He was one of the kindest men I’ve ever known. My condolences to his wife and family.
The Hawk family has been in my memories from an early age. I am so very sorry for your loss, I know he will be sorely missed. Much Love!
Walter was a very special friend and co worker to my husband Dale at Diamonite . He enjoyed his family and friends and neighbors. He will be greatly missed. Comfort prayers to his family. God Bless.
Dear Dorothy & Family ~ It was with heavy and sad hearts that Paul and I read in the Times Reporter that Walter had passed away. Instantly our thoughts went to many decades ago when we were very young couples even before any of us had children. When I look at that big happy smile on Walter’s face in the TR, it reminds me of the fun times we sat around Dwight & Evelyn Johnson’s kitchen table and played Rook with Walter keeping us laughing with his funny stories. It is wonderful to know that Walter enjoyed a long and happy life and he certainly was one of the “good guys.” Even though the years and distance separated us, we never stopped loving you both in our hearts. Our sincere sympathy to you and your family and May God Grant You Peace, Strasburg friends ~ Paul & Jane Delcoma

Brian:
I want to extend my sincere sympathy to you on the passing of your father. I was out of town for a a couple of days and just found this out. I wish you peace and comfort as you navigate this part of your life. Peace be with you, your wife and your son.
Dear Hawk Family,
Sincere condolences. Words cannot describe the Pillar we have lost. Walter has left his legacy in you, your children, and with those of us who have had the honor to know him and hear his messages. He always said getting older wasn’t for sissies. And neither is surviving the the loss of a loved one. Take care of each other, Share silly memories, Make a scrapbook of him to show your grandkids. Take a day at a time. ‘Fight’ over his tools. Eat together and food fight outside.
Love you guys bunches, Kathleen E.
