Thomas Eugene Chapman, 85, embraced his Savior on May 27, 2025. He was born April 2, 1940, to Robert and Mary (Funk) Chapman in Wayne County, OH. He married Jeanne Moomaw on November 10, 1963; who was devoted to him for 59 years until she embraced her Savior on November 22, 2022. Tom and Jeanne ran their land clearing business from their residence in Jeromesville then Red Haw, OH.
Surviving are their 4 daughters: Angela Spell (Dave) of Greentown, IN, Linda Wilder (Phil), Sandra Grassman (Charles) both of Wooster and Susan Porter (Michael) of Carmel, IN. Tom enjoyed fishing and visiting with his 9 grandchildren: Verayna Newland (Dustin) and Evan Spell (Brooke), Landon and Laura Wilder, Jared and Nicolas Grassman, and Claire Pendleton (Jacob), Caroline and Ethan Porter.
Tom’s children anticipate the day when they will all be reunited. Until then, his memory will remain in their hearts. God has told us in 1 Thessalonians 5:10 (NLT) “Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when He returns, we can live with Him forever.”
Tom was a trustee on the board of a one-room schoolhouse and enjoyed that community from his childhood until his last days.
His celebration of life will be on July 20th at 5pm at Hillside Church 137 Co. Rd. 1302 Rowsburg, OH 44866.
