Edith (Eadie) Bresson Snyder’s life journey ended on June 5, 2025 at the age of 98 in her apartment at Wayne Manor in Wooster. Eadie was born to Benjamin and Grace McComas on July 19, 1926 in Pennsville, Ohio.  She graduated from Wooster High School, went to Beauty College in Cleveland, and became a beautician, a career she enjoyed for over 50 years.  She was married to Clarence (Bud) Bresson until his passing in 1976.  They had 5 children.  Barbara (Roger) Buchholz, Linda (Rick) Catrone, Mindy (Stuart) Starr, all of Wooster. Larry (Barb) Bresson, of Lakeville and Becky (Tim) Polley, of Bellevue, Ohio.

Eadie married Bill Snyder, now deceased, in 1984. They moved to Florida and built the home they shared there for 30 years.  Eadie loved her time in Florida, golfing, fishing, feeding the birds, hosting family and friends from the north, playing cards and sharing an occasional glass of wine.  Her greatest joy was spending time with family.  Being with all her grandkids at the camper, sporting events, plays, concerts, and watching them grow and start families of their own brought her so much joy.  Her zest for life, positive attitude, infectious smile, sense of humor and fearless nature always kept life interesting.  Eadie was the matriarch of her loving family and she will be missed terribly.

Eadie is survived by her children, and Bill’s children, whom she loved dearly, Jill (Louis) Lucas, and Jeff (Julie) Snyder. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, and 7 step-grandchildren.  Preceding her in death were her husbands, 1 step-grandson, and 2 great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Wayne Manor for their loving care.  You cared for her like family when family couldn’t be there.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday June 14, 2025 at 12:00 PM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 527 Beall Ave., Wooster with Rev. Stephen Moran as officiant.  Inurnment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church on Saturday.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in Eadie’s memory to People to People Ministries of Wooster, 454 E. Bowman St., Wooster, OH 44691.

  9. Barb and family There is no easy way to say good-bye to someone who has been such and amazing force in your lives. Your mom was so special. There was always room for one more at the table or a shoulder to cry on when you thought that no one really cared. She loved to laugh not only at our stupid jokes but herself as well. She never yelled when we sent her golf balls sailing over the building at the back of your house. There will never be a day that you won’t think “I should tell/ask/show Mom this.” She will always live in your hearts. Thank you for sharing her with so many of us.
